Qualified Medical Conditions

There is an enormous amount of disabling conditions that qualify applicants for disability benefits. The Blue Book is the manual used by the Social Security Administration (SSA) to define what qualifies a disabling condition for disability benefits. If your condition is not listed in the Social Security Administration’s Bluebook, you may still qualify if your condition prevents you from achieving sustainable gainful activity (SGA) and you are expected to be unable to work for at least 12 months.

The Disability Care Center’s team of experienced disability advocates has created a comprehensive list of illnesses and conditions recognized by the SSA. Our team describes the general restrictions and requirements needed for each condition to qualify. Each condition has its own specifications for qualification. Typically every disabling condition needs to prevent the applicant from working, has or will last longer than 12 months, and needs to be recognized by a doctor with substantial evidence.
