Social Security Region 6: Dallas

Region 6 of the Social Security Administration includes the following: Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. The region also includes 141 Field offices, 17 Offices of Disability Adjudication & Review, and 6 Offices of Disability Determination Services. Within Region 6, there are a little over 1,210,000 individuals who receive SSDI and approximately 1,120,000 individuals receive SSI. Overall, around 9% of the population in the region is considered disabled by the SSA’s standards and the SSA gave out on average about 1.84 billion dollars in benefits per month in 2013.
